India Cafe

When Leigha and I were first dating, we took turns paying when we went out to eat. One day, when it was Leigha's turn to pay, we came to the Indian Cafe and hated it. As we were walking out the door I said, "I'm glad that I didn't have to pay for THAT meal." While she may have forgiven me for speaking so thoughtlessly, she has never forgotten. It has been nearly a decade since then and our food tastes have changed a lot. On a day that we were able to go on a lunch date, we decided to give the India Cafe another chance.

Since going to the India Cafe last time, I've come to realize that most Indian food is vegetarian and Leigha has come to appreciate curry. When we walked into the door this time, I felt as if we were walking in more open-minded, a bit skeptical and with the full realization that we were going to eat from a buffet. I put a small portion of most of the dishes on my plate and liked every. single. thing. I told Leigha that these were probably the same things that we had eaten the last time and didn't like. I was a bit disappointed that there weren't more spicy dishes. The only one on the buffet line was a potato, mint and chickpea dish that had some kick to it. It wasn't bad, but I didn't think that it was that good, either. That aside, both of us were really happy that we had given the India Cafe another chance. And this time I paid for it.

  1. Very funny post about your date with Leigha. Glad you like the food from India Cafe now. It is our favorite Indian restaurant around here and we love the Goat Vindaloo from the a la carte menu. You can let the waiter know how spicy/hot you want the dish to be... :)

  2. I never thought to look at the menu. Curried goat is on my list. Maybe they have a few other things, too.
